Go to the phone, click on it, go to services and 'maid' should be the first one. But you will have to pay her 10 Simoleans an hour
References :
You can't receive Communion unless you are a Catholic in the state of grace, no matter who you are in the wedding party.

It's perfectly acceptable to kneel, though, it you want to be polite about it.

The bride should inform the priest that you are not Catholic. He may have misgivings about this. In some traditions, the role of the maid of honor and best man are to help the couple sustain their marriage by encouraging them through the bad times and helping them stay focused on the sacramental nature of marriage. As a non-Catholic, you would not necessarily believe that the marriage is a sacrament, let alone be able to provide a Catholic view on marriage troubles. You might not even agree with your role being one to help the couple stay married for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, the priest may or may not say anything about you not being Catholic -- he may just switch gears when it comes to you and not foist any responsibilities upon you. Either way, though, don't take communion at any Catholic mass (wedding, funeral, whatever) because you aren't Catholic.
References :
<<Can a non Catholic be maid of honor in a Catholic wedding?>>

YES! Your not being Catholic will not "disqualify" you in standing as the Maid (aka Matron) of Honor.

<<I am supposed to be maid of honor, but the bride to be was asked if the best man and I have been confirmed.>>

If you're Catholic, hopefully you are Confirmed. If you're not, that in and of itself won't constitute a roadblock for standing as Maid of Honor.

Wedding party or no wedding party, if you are an unConfirmed Catholic, that's an issue worth looking into rectifying.

<<She was also told that the wedding party must kneel and recieve communion.>>

That is not necessarily true. Non-Catholics CANNOT receive Holy Communion even if they wanted to. You have two choices. You can either stay in your seat when the others go up to receive Communion. Or, you can go up buit, rather than receive Communion, you can just receive a blessing from the priest.

<<Would it be inappropriate for me to be maid of honor when I do not practice religion?>>

Which is going to make you feel more uncomfortable:
1) Not kneeling in the Real Presence of the Holu Eucharist - when everyone else is. . .
2) Kneeling with everyone else, even if you do not believe?

The wedding day is about the Bride and the Groom. As the Matron of Honor, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do WHATEVER so that it does not "ruin" their wedding day". Kneeling in the Real Presence of the Eucharist, even when you do not believe, is a small price to pay if the dividend is a Perfect Wedding for your friend and her husband-to-be.
